Einstein Charter Students Honored Vietnamese Culture by Celebrating “Year of The Dog” at TET Celebrations
UPDATE: Einstein Charter School students in New Orleans East joined together to celebrate TẾT, the Vietnamese New Year, across all four schools earlier this month. Student-led performances included traditional dance, the Vietnamese Anthem, song of the New Year, fashion show, and the Versailles Dragon Dance Team.
TẾT is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture. It takes place from the first day of the month of the Vietnamese calendar until at least the third day. Many families prepare special holiday food and practice special customs this time of year. Einstein’s student population is approximately 16% Vietnamese and embraces this unparalleled diversity with the TẾT celebration.
“We are privileged to serve a phenomenal and culturally diverse student population at Einstein,” says CEO Shawn Toranto. “At Einstein we make a commitment to recognize and celebrate all of our students and their cultures.”
