Students at Einstein Charter School Village de l’Est Celebrate Achievement in ESL Program
NEW ORLEANS, LA: Twenty-one students celebrated their exit from the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Einstein Charter School Village de l’Est on Friday. Parents, faculty and staff watched on as students from grades 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th received “Achievement Certificates” for achieving full proficiency by the state of Louisiana English Language Development Assessment (ELDA).
ELDA is a battery of tests designed to allow schools to measure annual progress in the acquisition of English language proficiency skills among non-native English speaking students in grades 3-12.
“We are so proud of the 21 students that “graduated” from the ESL program today,” says Chief Executive Officer Shawn Toranto. “Dedicating funding to support our ELL students with paraprofessionals and teachers is (and will remain) a priority for Einstein Charter Schools.”
