Each of our schools benefit from an active parent-teacher organization, a rarity in urban public schools. Our school community throws many events throughout the school year including providing a safe space for young students to trick or treat (“Trick or Trunk”), a mini-Mardi Gras parade to recognize outstanding students (our “Krewe of Hoo”), and an occasional sock hop.
In addition each school hosts events where parents and family members are encourage to get involved in their student’s education. Donuts for Dads, Muffins with Mom, Grandparent’s Day and Parent Coffees are all part of the line-up!
Parents can also volunteer in classrooms, contact your school office to inquire.
