Einstein Charter School Village de l’Est (VDLE) will welcome students back to its original location at 5100 Cannes Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70129 on January 8, 2020. There will be a ribbon-cutting at 8:15 am.
Village de l’Est at Einstein Schools is excited to start the new year in its original building and to be back in the Village de l’Est community. Staff and administrators have been working hard over the holiday break to prepare classrooms to welcome students back. The new building will allow Village de l’Est to continue to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient.
Students will return to a safe and refurbished building. The building was closed for four years due to building maintenance and improvements and students were housed in modular buildings behind the Sarah T. Reed Campus.
“Einstein Charter School Village de l’Est has finally returned to its home in the historic community of the same name. Formerly, Etienne de Bore Elementary, Village de l’Est or VDLE, has just celebrated its 50th year anniversary this past November. Today, the student population remains diverse, with families representing Vietnamese, Hispanic, Caucasian and African-American communities,” said Nicole Cooper, VDLE School Leader. “The faculty, staff and administration will be welcoming students back from Christmas break to a very different setting from the modular campus it has been operating over the past four years.”
The school will resume its regular schedule on Wednesday, January 8. After-school will also resume on January 8 in the annex building.
