Our mission and vision is to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient.

Who We Are

Einstein Schools was founded in 2005 and currently operates 4 public schools with rich histories before the formation of Einstein as a Charter Management Organization. Admission to any school in the Einstein network is open to all New Orleans children, including those with special needs and Limited English Proficiency. Students are admitted by way of the OneApp system in partnership with New Orleans Public Schools. Across the network, 90% of students are from low-income households; 30% are current and former English Language Learners, and 15% are unique learners. About 58% of our students are African American, 30% are Latino, 1% white, and 12% Asian. Additionally, 95% of Einstein's student body primarily live in the New Orleans East community. Authorized by New Orleans Public Schools, Einstein Schools  are held strictly accountable to the state for student performance.

Michael McKenzie

Chief Executive Officer

Michael McKenzie became the Chief Executive Officer of Einstein in 2019. Michael’s experience as a special education practitioner, school leadership development coach, consultant, principal, executive principal, youth advocate, program designer, and public school parent make him uniquely qualified to effectively lead Einstein in maintaining quality schools while supporting community development in New Orleans East. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College, a Master's of Education Administration from Texas Southern University, and is a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership at Columbia University.

My Tran, licensed by the Society for Human Resource Management, leads Einstein's Human Resource framework.

J.C. Wagner Romero, Ed.D.

Chief of Staff

Dr. Wagner Romero, an experienced local and international K-12 educator and administrator, serves as Einstein's Chief of Staff.

LaKenya Collins, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

LaKenya Collins, a Certified Public Accountant, leads Einstein's finance and development department.

Brittney Norwood, LSSP

Director of Pupil Appraisal & Special Services

Brittney Norwood, a Certified School Psychologist, leads Einstein's Pupil Appraisal & Special Services department.

Ashley Daniels-Hall

Chief Instructional Officer 

Ashley Daniels, a certified educator and administrator leads Einstein's Curriculum & Instruction department.

Dana Henry

Executive Director of Institutional Advancement

Dana Henry, a board certified attorney, leads Einstein's community relations, engagement and sustainability efforts.

Long Nguyen

Executive Director of Operations & Technology

Long Nguyen, an experienced technology specialist, leads Einstein's facility operations and technology departments.
